About Milton Academy
Milton Academy has a long history, which can be traced back to 1798 when it was established under the Massachusetts land-grant policy. The New England Association of Schools and Colleges and a member of the National Independent School Association originally approved the school.
The academy covers an area of 125mu. It is only 8 miles from South Boston, where students and teachers can enjoy the cultural resources in both Boston and Cambridge. It is only a few minutes’ journey to the Great Blue Mountain World Heritage Area, where the 6000 acres of forest zone is an optimal area for climbing and skiing. Its motto is “Dare to be true”, which is not only represents the core values of the Academy, but also the culture of Milton.
In the past 200 years, Milton has fostered a great number of talents. Its students come from 30 states and 16 countries around the world. There are 136 teachers in total, of whom, 73% have master’s degrees. On average, there are 14 students to a class and the teacher-student ratio is 5:1. The academy focuses on fostering students’ passion to study and respect for each other.
