About Proctor Academy

Affiliated to a church, Proctor Academy is a college preparatory school with a history of more than 150 years. Up to now, it maintains the tradition of humanism in teaching. It was recognised by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges, and is a member of the National Association of Independent Schools and the Association of Boarding Schools. The experimental and innovative LSP provided in the school is famous across the country. It also provides AP courses of 10 subjects. Small classes are adopted for teaching, and each class has 12 students. The teacher-student rate is 1:5. The school covers an area of 3,000 acres, surrounded by mountains, skiing sites, lakes, campgrounds and trees, Andover town is located in the central area of New Hampshire, 25 miles away from Concord, and 40 miles away from Hanover.

Service Facilities

Lovejoy library stands at the study centre of Fowler, a supporting study technique lab and computer centre.

Faxon computer centre is a hinge of wireless network, and the portable computer programme makes it easy for all students to access the Internet anywhere on the campus. There are also four teaching buildings including Fowler study centre (and a college consultancy office). Faxon computer centre and a wireless network high. The family theatre can hold 420 audiences. There is also rehearsal space, a dance studio, theatrical costume shop and expendable technical facilities.

Students’ dormitories were built between 1792 and 2006, and 12 students stay in one building on average, which promotes a family environment.

In addition, English and Foreign Language departments are set in the Maxwell Savage building. Science, Sociology and Maths departments are set in the Shirley building.

Football, trail running, skiing, icebreaker hockey, lacrosse, basketball, baseball, tennis and cycling.

Students can fly to Manchester Airport; and from there take a bus to the school.
