The University of Kentucky, also known as UK, founded in 1865, is a four-year public co-educational university, located in Lexington, Kentucky, 80 miles from Cincinnati, Ohio.
As Kentucky is famous of horse farms, so does the veterinary. Centres specializing in horse disease are particularly well-known nationwide. And a less popular subject – “international diplomacy” is also reputable though the class is small. There are also other good subjects, such as accounting, business management, psychology, education, agriculture, construction and pharmaceutical. There were 6,960 applications for the past two years, and 5,265 students were admitted.
As the leading public research institute, UK provides up to 200 degree courses from agriculture to medicine, engineering to art. It has 35,000 students, is the largest university in Kentucky. UK’s newly built William • T • Young Library is a world level research library, its collection is only second to Harvard University, ranked 2nd in the United States. Special facilities including the museum of anthropology, humanities centre, horse breeding research center, cancer research center, and pharmaceutical manufacturing laboratories. Sports equipment including gymnasium, football pitch, gym room, badminton courts, tennis courts, basketball courts, swimming pool, track and field sport ground.

Entry Requirements
UK accepts TOEFL and IELTS;
- Undergraduate: TOEFL : ITP 527, CBT 197 or IBT 71;
- Undergraduate: IELTS: 6.0;
- Applicant’s English level does not meet the above requirements can take English courses in the Centre for English as a Second Language to improve their English;
- When submitting the TOEFL results, please note the UK institution number is 1234;
- UK will offer conditional admission if the international student’s academic result meet the entry requirements but the language ability.
